How long is a typical audiobook? The median is 9.7 hours
Half of the 2,000 audiobooks we measured finish inside 9.7 hours. The full distribution — from 0.5 hours to 101.8 — in one chart.
The median audiobook in our dataset runs 9.7 hours; the average is 10.8 — the average sits higher because a small number of very long titles stretches the tail. 81% of everything we measured lands between 4 and 16 hours.
